entertainment industry
Previous Professional Experience
- Associate Publisher of Creative Screenwriting
Magazine and Associate Coordinator of the Screenwriting
Expo. My relationship with the magazine lasted for 12
years.
- Wrote 17 produced episodes of network television for
series including Hunter, Jake & The Fatman, True
Confessions, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat, Foul Play, and
KnightRider. It is interesting to note that 9 first
drafts were put straight into production without
rewrite.
- Wrote, produced and presented more than 200 hours of
LIVE educational television.
- Elected to and served a two-year term on the Board of
Directors, Writers Guild of America, west.
- Taught accredited courses in screenwriting and
advanced video production; adjunct faculty at California
State University, Dominguez Hills and Loyola Marymount
University.
- Designed and taught Entertain.ment - the first
university-accredited course in writing and producing
live interactive broadcast for the Internet; supervised
the first live interactive student production with
participants throughout the United States and
Indonesia.
- Authored a primer for PBS Learning Satellite Service
to explain the distance learning process from the
course-creator's point of view [quoted and referenced
in two doctoral dissertations].
