BUSINESS BIO: Darius specializes in working with “PAWDs” -- producers, actors, writers and directors – and ensures that they make smart decisions with their money so they can spend more time doing what they love. In addition to being the go-to expert for financial challenges facing these unique clients, Darius also has an uncommon and in-depth knowledge of guild benefits (DGA, SAG, WGA), how they affect entertainment professionals, and how to integrate them into financial strategies. Darius was raised in the Los Angeles area and earned his Ph.D. in Quantum Physics from UCLA in 1996. As part of his training in graduate school, he was taught that there is a simple and elegant solution to every problem. He immediately applied his problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills to Wall Street, serving initially as Assistant Vice President at UBS, and later as Vice President at Merrill Lynch. He subsequently spent four years as a Vice President, Financial Engineer and Portfolio Manager at PIMCO in Newport Beach, California. Darius has the distinction of creating financial engineering tools that are used at PIMCO to analyze investment strategies that apply across most of the PIMCO funds. Today, he applies his direct knowledge of these strategies and many other asset classes in the design of Quantum's portfolios. Darius also has an MBA from UCLA Anderson and is a Certified Financial Planner professional as well as a CFA charterholder. He is an instructor at UCLA Extension where he teaches his well-received course, "The Science and Art of Investing." Darius believes in leading a balanced lifestyle and starts his day by practicing ashtanga yoga. He maintains that providing peace of mind for clients starts with himself, and his yoga practice establishes the grounding that enables him to be present with his clients, to listen to them with empathy, and to deliver sincere and straightforward advice. Darius also enjoys coaching soccer, snowboarding, and most importantly, being with his wife and two sons
